Rajkumar comes from a poor and broken family. His father abandoned the family when he was 5 years old. His mother now looks after the family finding casual work whenever possible.
His two sisters remain with mother living in their village home. A place in a Children’s Village during 2014 and later Boys Town will give him every opportunity of success, for him and his family.
Home to Divya is one room in a small agricultural village shared with mother and younger brother. Her father is absent from the family having suffered with alcoholism. Mother works in a paper mill to support her family.
Suffering from her family situation Divya was welcomed into a Girls Home in 2015. She is two years behind in her education, but with the care now given is making tremendous advances and speaks of finishing her education and then be trained; compassionately expressing she wants to help her family and other poor people.
Arunkumar’s family home is in Kerala. His father left when he was 11 years old, leaving his mother to care for him and two siblings. He and his sister were admitted into Boys Town in 2010.
Arunkumar has now completed his education and is studying for a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and hopes to also complete a BA English course. He is certain to find good work when he finishes his course in 2018. At that time he is determined to help his mother and the education of his siblings.
